Dr Teriko Rex

Dr Rex is an Honorary Clinical Educator in Orthodontics at the University of Sydney and an Invisalign Red Diamond Provider (the highest awarded Invisalign Provider in New South Wales).
Dr Teriko Rex obtained her Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Sydney in 1996, graduating with First Class Honours. She continued her specialist training in orthodontics at the University of Sydney and obtained her Master of Dental Science (Orthodontics) in 2002. Teriko has won prestigious research prizes and published numerous research articles around the world, including in the well renowned and respected “American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics.”
Teriko obtained Invisalign certification at its inception in early 2000 and is a proud participant of the ASO initiative, “Give a Smile”, providing orthodontic treatment to those financially unable. Teriko has supported the development of one of the best orthodontic training programmes in the world by tutoring postgraduate students at the University of Sydney.
Her bright smile and calm gentle nature makes her easily approachable and happy to answer any concerns regarding your orthodontic treatment.

Dr Darin Ballard
B.D.S.(SYD.),M.D.SC.(SYD.)
Dr Darin Ballard obtained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Sydney in 1996 and worked for a number of years in both general private practice and with the Royal Australian Air Force. He then completed his Master of Dental Science (Orthodontics) at the University of Sydney. Darin has published research articles around the world including in the well renowned and respected “American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics.”
Darin has a special interest in Invisalign and has achieved Red Diamond provider status for this discreet treatment method. He has also been involved in tutoring postgraduate students at the University of Sydney and, along with Dr Rex, is involved with the “Give a Smile” programme. This ASO initiative provides orthodontic treatment to those financially unable.
Darin’s comical and easy-going nature makes him easily approachable and happy to answer any concerns regarding your orthodontic treatment.

Dr Matthew Wong
BDentSc (HONS.), GDipDent, DClinDent (ORTHO)(SYD), M.R.A.C.D.S.(ORTHO)
Dr Wong attained his Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science with Class I Honours and Graduate Diploma of Dentistry from Griffith University. He graduated first in his cohort for all 5 years of his dental degree, attaining the prestigious University Medal, Australian Society of Orthodontics Prize, Australian Dental Association Prize, and Head of School Nomination. From there, he pursued his specialist training in Orthodontics at the University of Sydney, attaining a Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Orthodontics.
Having undergone orthodontic treatment himself, Matthew truly understands the life-changing impact of a great smile on a patient’s confidence and self-esteem. As a specialist orthodontist, Matthew’s aim is to work with you and your child to restore confidence, function, and aesthetics. No matter how difficult, Matthew will work with you to find out what’s wrong, how it’s affecting you or your child, and how he can be of most benefit in your situation. He is also interested in the forefront of digital orthodontics and clear aligner therapy, and how it can be used to improve a patient's treatment.
He tells us although he looks young, the number of white hairs gives his true age away. During his spare time, he loves a good weekend spent with family and friends cooking up some well-chargrilled BBQ.

Jo Tebbutt
Senior Dental Hygienist
Hi, my name is Jo and I am a qualified Dental Hygienist who is proud to be part of this progressive and dynamic practice.
Having more than 40 years of experience in orthodontics I feel confident that my experience and clinical skills complement the high-quality care provided by the Lane Cove Team. I strive to develop caring relationships with all our patients and look forward to seeing you in the practice.
Outside of the clinic, I am a keen golfer and runner participating in many of Sydney's marathon events.
Mitali Chauhan
Dental Hygienist
Hi, I’m Mitali and I am one of the dental hygienists you’ll see working at Lane Cove Orthodontics.
I have been in the dental field since 2014 and in orthodontics since graduating with a Bachelor of Oral Health from the University of Newcastle in 2016. You’ll see me throughout your smile journey working with Dr Rex and Dr Ballard.
I love seeing the incredible transformations our patients go through and it is so rewarding working alongside orthodontists who strive for perfection.
In my spare time I love travelling, being outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
Melanie Crocker
Dental Hygienist
Hi, my name is Mel and I am a qualified Dental Hygienist and proud member of the Lane Cove Orthodontics team.
I have worked in the world of dental since 2011, and completed my Bachelor of Oral Health at the University of Newcastle in 2015. I find orthodontics so fascinating as the techniques and information are ever-evolving, the job is nothing short of exciting! I love coming to work and contributing to each and every smile transformation alongside Dr Rex and Dr Ballard, as well as sharing the joy with our patients when they see their finished result.
Outside of the clinic I love doing The Bay Walk, travelling and catching up with our young nieces and nephews.
